High memory usage in Comet Backup during backups in Voyager 26.8.4

Symptoms

• High memory usage at the start of a backup job. The job may crash with an out-of-memory error.
• Backup agent is running version 26.8.4 to 26.8.8.

Cause

A bug in Comet is causing the process to cache more data than is necessary. This is product bug with ID COMET-60788, which has already been fixed in version 26.8.9.

Resolution

Upgrade the Comet Core server and backup agent to 26.8.9, and rerun the backup.
