Is it possible to add multiple admins and limit their privileges to read-only access?

Answer

Comet Backup does not currently support a read-only server administrator role for either Comet-Hosted or Self-Hosted environments.

Current Status:

• Comet-Hosted: There is an internal development ticket with ID COMET-59303 to support additional admin users with read-only permissions on Comet-Hosted. There is currently no definitive timeframe for its release.
• Self-Hosted: While multiple administrators can be configured, they cannot yet be assigned a read-only permission profile. The privileges can be limit only according to the options shown in the screenshot.

• Alternative: Tenants Feature:

  For Self-Hosted instances, you can leverage the Tenants feature as a workaround for partitioning administration duties:

  • Isolated Administration: Resellers can configure separate Tenant accounts with partitioned access to the Management Console

  • Dedicated Tenant Admins: Each tenant can have its own admin account assigned specifically to manage user devices, storage templates, or policies belonging to that particular tenant.

  • Restricted Permissions: While not strictly "read-only", the main administrator can customize specific policy restrictions for each Tenant admin account to limit what they can modify or access.
